Boat Bill of Sale
A bill of sale for a boat, with the hull number, motor, trailer, and what is included.
Good for: Anyone buying or selling a boat, jet ski, or other watercraft from another person.
Before you sign
- The seller should also sign over the title or registration if the boat has one. A bill of sale does not replace it.
- Copy the hull identification number (HIN) from the boat itself and compare it to the paperwork. They must match.
- Many states need the sale reported, and the boat re-registered by the buyer, within a set time. The state tips on the last step cover your state.
