General Bill of Sale
A signed record that you sold or gave away an item, with the price and who now owns it.
Good for: Anyone selling furniture, tools, equipment, electronics, a trailer without a title, or other personal belongings.
Before you sign
- Both the seller and the buyer should sign, and each should keep a copy.
- Describe the item well. A serial number, model, or color makes it clear exactly what was sold.
- Cars, trucks, motorcycles, and boats usually need their own bill of sale and a title transfer. Use the Vehicle Bill of Sale for those.
