Month-to-Month Rental Agreement
A simple rental agreement that renews every month until either side gives notice.
Good for: Landlords and tenants renting a house, apartment, or room without a long lease.
Before you sign
- Every state has its own rules about deposits, notices, and entering the home. The state tips on the last step list the main ones.
- Many states limit how much deposit a landlord may take and how fast it must be returned.
- Do a walk-through together on move-in and write down any damage that is already there. Both people should sign it.
- Rent control and local rules can limit rent increases and reasons for ending a tenancy.
