Release of Liability
A signed waiver where someone agrees to take part in an activity at their own risk.
Good for: Anyone running an event, class, trip, tournament, or activity, or anyone asked to sign one.
Before you sign
- A waiver does not protect against every kind of claim. Courts in many states will not enforce a waiver for serious carelessness or for harm done on purpose.
- Everyone who takes part should sign their own copy. A parent or guardian signs for anyone under 18.
- Keep the signed copies for several years.
